Tourniquet - Stop the Bleeding (1990)
This debut album from the now legendary thrash band Tourniquet hit the Christian scene with a fierceness and intensity that most in the CCM industry and scene were probably not prepared for. "Stop the Bleeding" is a true classic in every sense of the word. The music on here is TOTALLY original never mimicking or copying any band in existence. Technical thrash riffs and complex drumming that are not only unbelievably intricate but also very catchy make this disc a winner with every listen! Vocalist Guy Ritter has an incredible and original voice (I have said before its possibly the best voice in all of Christian metal). Guy has quite a decent range going from a harsh "singing" style to shrieks and high pitched wails very similar to King Diamond. The lyrics on this cd deal with a wide variety of topics including some old testament study. Recommended if you like early Metallica, Deliverance, King Diamond, old Megadeth, and Mercyful Fate. -- Review by Norm
