Test of Faith  - Demo (1999)

This is an amazing band with a mountain of potential. The overall musical style is progressive metal. High-octane vocals, tight rhythms and an outstanding guitar performance give this cd a powerful feel. It is clear that Test of Faith has actually taken the time to craft and hone their material. The production is flawless and way above average for a "demo". I can not wait for the first full-length to come out from this band. The only downfall I find in this disc is that it is too short containing only three songs, but then again it is just a demo. The lyrics are bold for Christ and do not compromise the gospel message. Originally recorded in 1999 it is beyond my imagination as to why these guys have not produced a full-length yet. The only suggestion I have for this band is too continue down the "metal" road and not to veer off into a more mellow style. Their vocals and guitar tone are perfectly suited for a major label such as Metal Blade or Nuclear Blast (who have been signing bands such as this left and right lately). To not stay heavy would undermine this groups quality and overall potential in my opinion. Why I am "offering advice" to this band in this review (something I don't think I have ever done in a review before)? It is because I am that impressed with what I have heard! Recommened for fans of Dream Theater, Fates Warning and Destra. Check them out at TestOfFaith.com -
