Former Stryper drummer Robert Sweet is back and he is serving up a platter of groove heavy modern rock! The hardest thing to get past here has got to be the cheesy bubblegum style cover art (we won't even go
there)! Once you dig into the music you will find that there is some real talent and energy here. Roberts drum sound is as powerful and rock solid as ever and the guitars and bass (also done by Robert) are hook heavy and catchy.
The vocals are performed by Larry Worley (formerly of Fear Not) and have a "Bon Jovi goes grunge" feel to them. For some reason at times this reminds me of Kings X and I'm really not sure why but I think fans of that band
will dig the grooves and song structures on this. Although this has a very modern, almost alternative, rock sound I think that classic rock fans and Stryper fans will also be able to get into it. -- Review by Norm |
