Purge - Purge (2000)

This is a very good disc in my opinion. Musically it is groove-metal with a touch of grunge along the lines of Stone Temple Pilots. The guitars have a massive groove with a mid-paced low-end chugging sound. The rhythm section sounds nice and thick with some punch to it. The production is also very good for an indie release. Vocally the guy is a pretty decent singer and can not really be compared to anyone that I can think of. If the vocals were a little darker and deeper I might say Days of The New or STP... I dunno. The song lyrics deal with many things ranging from our desperate need for Gods forgiveness and Salvation to praise and worship to everyday news topics like hate crimes and our first ammendment right of free speach (great topic!). The lyrics are bold and evangelical. I would recommend this to fans of bands like Torn, Eloi, STP, and Faithbomb. -- Review by Norm -- To find out more info or to order send $8 (per cd ppd) to: Ronnie Griffin p.o box 640672, Kenner, La. 70064 or email rgriff22@bellsouth.net
