P.O.D. - Snuff the Punk (1993, re-issue 2000)
Payable on Death aka P.O.D. burst onto the San Diego hardcore scene back in 1993 with this debut cd that mixes hardcore and metal guitars with elements of rap, punk and even funk! The music on "Snuff the Punk" was clearly ahead of it's time. Since this release many a band have followed the path that P.O.D. originally took (ie: Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc...) Overall this is a fun cd to jam on. Vocalist Sonny delivers the lines in serious rap-core fashion and punctuates the lyrics with his own style. Slappy basslines, heavy guitars, slammin drums and lyrics that are IN YOUR FACE for JESUS carry this cd into the "rapcore hall of fame". Now that it has been re-released everyone can own a piece of history. -- Review by Norm
