P.O.D. - The Fundamental Elements of Southtown (2000)

P.O.D. hits the mainstream! This cd is by far their most accessible and with a recent signing to Atlantic records, a spot on Korn's European tour and heavy rotation on MTV it looks as if nothing can stop P.O.D.! These guys have modified the sound just slightly to a more radio friendly rapcore approach very similar to Limp Bizkit (only WAY better!). The lyrics do not appear as bold, with songs about life in California and jammin at parties, but if you read between the lines you can see the ministry of P.O.D. stand strong as they venture out into the big world of secular music to spread
the message of the gospel to a generation that is crying out for something different. Once again the music is based on hardcore guitars and rap style vocal delivery but the cd does have some surprises such as one reggae song and a remake of U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky". The songs are heavy and catchy and will have you bouncing and moshing around wanting to catch the nearest P.O.D. show! -- Review by Norm
