Living Sacrifice is a name that has become one of those automatically referred to when one mentions the term Christian death metal. Living Sacrifice's 3rd album "Inhabit" was released in 1994 on
R.E.X. Records and re-released in 1999 on Solid State Rocords. Inhabit is very good musically. They had found their own niche on this album and did it well. The guitars are very crunchy and heavy while the speed picking they have
become so well at stands out in this album. The acoustic interludes are present as they were in the past, but I don't think they stand out as much. The drums pound and there is lots of double bass that keep this cd moving in the
right direction. The bass backs the drums well and keeps alot of heaviness flowing on this cd. My only complaints on this is that I think the blast beats could be more executed and the vocals are just plain dumb! DJ has changed his
vocals every album to this point and here is where he hit his low point. He sounds as if he is trying to be the vocalist for Vader, but they are failing to get the right attack and tone throughout the album. If you can get past the
vocals on Inhabit, you have a pretty good cd!! -- Review by Shannon |
