Leviticus  - The Strongest Power (1986)

This second full-length from Swedish metal pioneers Leviticus follows virtually the same pattern as their first recording "I Shall Conquer" (reviewed above). Not a lot to add except maybe the melodies are little nicer here. -- Review by Norm

This album was originally released in 1985 in Europe. M8 has completed their Leviticus releases with this re-release on cd for the first time in 2001. The Strongest Power is probably the heaviest Leviticus release followed by I Shall conquer. This cd really stands out in the myriad of Swedish metal coming over to the US in the mid-eighties. Bjorn Stigsson, Hekan Andersson and Kjell Andersson really put out a great album their second time round with songs like The Winner, Deborah and Barak, On The Rock, King of Kings, Stay With Us and
Light For The World. The Strongest Power is a welcome addition to any power metal fans collection. The cd has 14 tracks (including the 1981 EP Stand and Look as bonus tracks) and comes with a reversible cover. The sound of the cd is very much improved over the cassettes that are still out there. -- Alex Mull
