The overall flow of this release is that of traditional power metal. The music tends to be a bit limited and focuses on hard rock and melodic power metal riffs to carry the songs. Nothing real technical or
out of the ordinary here. On some chorus' you get a taste of some catchy glam/pop metal. At times the music can be fairly heavy bordering on midpaced thrash but I dont want to mislead anyone so lets just call it "basic melodic
metal". Laudamus builds their strengths on an '80's metal sound and probably would have been a big Headbangers Ball contender had this stuff been released back in 1986. The vocals are basic power metal similar to Helloween or
Iron Maiden with "arena rock" style. I am forced to admit that this cd becomes very catchy and addicting with repeated listens. One of the low points here is the "flat" sound of the vocals. The lyrics are bold
and worshipful. -- Review by Norm |
