Inversion - The Nature of Depravity (2000)
Blistering death metal for fans of bands like Canibal Corpse! This is one of the better death metal cd's I have heard in a while, and it was quite welcome as the scene has been a bit slow lately with everyone playing "black" metal. Inversion's first full-length cd features guest drummer Dave Campbell (Sickened/Death List/Obliteration) who I personally consider one of the very best drummers around. Intense double bass drumming and brutal destructive guitar tones set the mood for this hour long metal ride. The vocals are deep and guttural the way death metal should be. There are a couple of tracks which feature a bit of black metal influence and a very strange acoustic worship song with "death" vocals, but overall this is pure grinding death metal at it's finest! The production on this is absolutely great. The sonics are crisp and clear. The band sounds tight and very competent. I highly recommend this cd to all death metal fans out there. -- Review by Norm
