Cybergrind - Transcend (2000)
This is well structured death metal from Australia's Mick Carlisle (former Mortification guitarist). The music is basic death with just enough technicality to keep it interesting. The overall guitar tone is similar to "Scrolls" era Mortification so the folks that miss that authentic death metal sound will probably really like the music on here. The vocals are probably the only thing I don't like a whole lot about this recording. They are the kind of death vox that you can understand, at times reminding me of Death List. There are plenty of tempo changes and blast beats but outside of that (and a great guitar tone!) there is nothing really new or outstanding here. -- Review by Norm
